Every Day Makeup that Lasts!

As a nurse working 12 straight hours in the ICU I need makeup that LASTS.  As you can imagine I have tried a lot of different products.  I also need makeup that looks natural.  I have very oily skin so some of these products are best for ladies like me.  I will also suggest alternatives for people with normal skin.  These are my tried and true favorites and I hope they will work for you!

Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in #4

This is the Holy Grail of foundations.  It has light but buildable coverage that will make your skin literally look like silk.  I often get stopped and asked what my skin care routine is when I am wearing this foundation.  Plus, it is Meghan Markle’s favorite foundation so that should be proof it is amazing!

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer

I use this primer every time I have foundation on.  It is oil-free and mattifying which is a MUST for my oily skin.  It really helps keep everything in place.  If you have normal skin try this ONE.

Tarte Smooth Operator Finishing Powder

I use this to set my foundation and help keep my skin from getting oily.  It is colorless so it will blend in with any skin tone and doesn’t have “flashback” so it is great for taking photographs.

Urban Decay Beached Bronzerin Sun-Kissed

I use this bronzer to warm up my skin-tone a little.  The color is subtle so you won’t end up looking like you rolled in the dirt!  It is finely milled which gives it a nice creamy texture.

Georgio Armani Cheek Fabric Blush in 306

This blush is gorgeous in person.  The color is buildable and stays put all day.  306 is a universally flattering peachy-pink shade.

Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray

I was a skeptic about setting sprays until my makeup artist used one for my wedding.  Turns out, they really do make a difference.  This product was a game changer for me in getting my makeup to last the entire 12-hour work day.  If you have normal skin try this ONE.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion

There are a lot of different eyeshadow primers available on the market but I always come back to this one.  I like that it has its own applicator and seems to last forever.  My eyeshadow NEVER creases with this stuff!

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics Eyeshadow Palette

I love the universally flattering taupe based hues in this palette.  There isn’t an overwhelming choice of colors but there is enough of a range from dark to light to create a day or night look.  I like to use stark over my entire lid, Skimp in the corners of my eyes and on my brow bone, and either Frisk, Cover, and/or Primal in the outer corner of my eyes.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Demolition

This waterproof eyeliner doesn’t budge.  It has a nice creamy texture that can be blended with an eyeliner smudge brush to create a soft line.

Benefit They’re Real! Mascara in Black

I have tried a lot of different mascaras but I ALWAYS come back to this one.  I have yet to find a better product.  This mascara doesn’t flake or smudge.  I also love the brush applicator since it does a great job separating every lash.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Powder Duo in Taupe

If you want natural looking eyebrows that last all day then this is your product.  I love that there are two shades to even out the look of your brow.  Ill often go back in with the lighter shade to fill in places where I need more coverage.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel

This brow gel will help keep brows in place.  I have tried some other brands but find this one has the best hold for the entire day.

Chanel Rouge Coco Gloss in 119 Bourgeoisie

I can’t even tell you how many tubes of this lip gloss I have purchased over the last 10 years.  It is my absolute favorite!  The color is incredibly flattering and I love the texture of the lipgloss itself.  I hope they never discontinue it because I will be devastated if they do.

Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Color in Lychee Parfait

This is a really nice creamy lipstick that stays put.  Lychee Parfait is a mauvy-pink color that is just a few shades darker than my natural lips.  I ALWAYS wear this color in photographs topped with my Chanel lipgloss (mentioned above).

I need to try some of these when I have more money lol because my skin is always (and I do mean always) oily. It’s obnoxious. My face primer and foundation are both from Ulta so they were pricey for both but I’m not sure how I feel about my foundation. It doesn’t have a lot of options for skin color. So I have to mix two colors to get it right. The primer is amazing though! Love it to death. I also use the Benefit brow pencil. That’s a great pencil. Are your eyebrows pretty thin too? If so, do you like the powder better than pencil?

My eyebrows are pretty thin. I have never had much to pluck! I do prefer the powder because I feel like it is easier for me to apply. I am so fair that makeup can get too dark quickly. I think the powder helps keep things lighter. I have also considered microblading but it makes me a little nervous!

If you have really oily skin try the Clean & Clear oil absorbing sheets. I don’t leave the house with out them.
