Two of the most popular months to get married are September and October . . . but what do you wear this time of year? If you are living in the South it is likely still warm out but everyone is transitioning to fall colors. Brightly colored dresses that worked during spring and summer don’t feel quite right anymore.
For our friend’s wedding in Wilmington, N.C. I chose to wear this gray floral dress that I think transitions nicely between the seasons. The muted color palette lends itself to fall without feeling too heavy. It is airy and romantic with a light crepe de chine fabric to help you stay cool at outdoor weddings. Furthermore, the asymmetrical hem adds an unexpected twist which can be made to look less formal with flat sandals or more formal with heels.
Make sure you bring double sided tape with you! I made the mistake of leaving mine at home and had to run out at the last minute to buy more. Tape is important since this is a wrap-style dress. You shouldn’t have to worry about things shifting out of place when you are on the dance floor!
